Deal Me In
I had been waiting four years for a
Whippet bitch from Carol Mudge (Allswell
Whippets) and Dutches was born on the 22
April 1981, it was love at first sight
and I could not wait to bring her home.
She took to the show ring and was soon
winning Baby and Puppy in Group and in
Show.
It was as a Junior that Dutch really had
some very memorable wins, at 13.5 months
under the World renowned Whippet
Specialist Mr Bobbie James (U.K.) she
won a 17 point Bitch Challenge, at her
next show she went Best in Group and was
titled at 14 months.
Dutch became a Multi Best in Group and
In Show winner, she won two Challenges
at the Adelaide Royal, and held her own
when shown interstate

Dutch had good wins under Whippet
Specialist Mr Neil Kay from South
Africa, and Mrs Wendy Slatyer commented
“ My Best in Show winner at 6.5 years of
age, showed all the lasting qualities
associated with this breed, size,
balance, soundness, symmetry, and the
potential for speed and power, plus
beauty. This bitch excelled in the true
“ daisy cutting movement”.
I consulted with Mr Ian Doherty
(Martinique Whippets) for her first
litter.
We agreed on
Australian Champion Martinique Calico
Look, and they produced 5 puppies on the
25 October 1983 I kept 2 from this
litter, Australian Champion Shirkeit Stop N Look and Australian
Champion Shirkeit Scene Stealer. Shirkeit
Stand N Deliver went to live with Carol
Mudge.
Luke and Maggie were also Best in Group
and in Show winners, and titled before
they were 18 months old. Luke won his
first 15 point Challenge at 6 months and
4 days under NZ Whippet Specialist Mr
Phillip Kersley.
